“the privilege of a lifetime is to become who you truly are”
— Carl Jung
Hi!
I’m Ayesha (she/her), a Registered Psychotherapist (Q) offering adults (18+) virtual therapy sessions across Canada, and in-person sessions on the unceded, unsurrendered territory of the Algonquin Anishinabeg people in Ottawa.
I support individuals in:
reclaiming their authentic selves & reconnecting to a sense of aliveness
becoming free from internal limitations and old/fixed identities
increasing their capacity to be in touch with their bodies and emotions
reconnecting to their sense of agency and empowerment within their healing journey
moving from contraction and constriction to expansion and fulfillment
addressing the mind-body connection & nervous system regulation
exploring relational dynamics (with self and others)
learning how to be present to their internal states & lived experiences
Who Do I Work With?
I work with any adult (18+) who wants to better understand themselves, who is tired of feeling stuck, frustrated, angry, demoralized and helpless, who yearns to come home to their truest self, and to find freedom in their life today. Here are some common experiences/symptoms I work with:
anxiety
depression
trauma (including birth & intergenerational)
complex-PTSD (interpersonal/childhood/attachment trauma)
guilt & shame
boundary setting
emotional dysregulation
learning how to identify one’s needs & advocating for them
life transitions & meaning making
lack of identity / identity transitions
reconnecting to a sense of self & sense of belonging
low self-esteem & self-worth
grief & loss
relational/interpersonal difficulties

What’s My Ethos?
I believe that to different depths that are unique to each individual, we’ve all learned how to hide our authenticity in some way, shape or form. Most of the time we adapt, contort or twist ourselves into different shapes out of a fear that we won’t be loved if we show up as our most vulnerable, real selves. Other times we inherit these adaptations from systemic oppression or intergenerational trauma. We learned (or our ancestors learned) to adapt as a survival mechanism—often at a time when we were younger and did not have the same resources, tools or development of our prefrontal cortex as we do now. As adults we unconsciously carry these adaptations forward—not realizing that what used to allow us to survive, now limits us from living our most meaningful life.
Together, we’ll understand what your deepest desires are for yourself (e.g. to feel happy, content, alive, free, at peace), and work together to understand how your unique set of life experiences and subsequent adaptations might be contributing to what is preventing you from experiencing the life you want for yourself. We will identify, track, and understand what your adaptations are and how they show up in your life in the present moment—somatically, emotionally, and mentally, bridging together the mind-body in our healing journey. Once we have cultivated this awareness and insight, we create the space for new ways of being to emerge.
My therapeutic work is integrative, predominantly rooted in an attachment and psychodynamic framework. My framework draws primarily from NARM (NeuroAffective Relational Model) which is a multifaceted approach to healing that addresses the mind, body and relational dynamics (with the self and others). I am also IFS-informed and incorporate parts-work and inner-child work within my approach.
Ready To Take The Next Step?
I offer free 15 minute resonance checks for us to connect via video/phone call. This is time for you to ask any questions you might have or to get a feel of myself or our relational dynamic with a quick moment of connection.
Alternatively, if you’re ready to dive into our first session, I’d be honoured to start our journey together.
